There is life beyond trauma
The author was born on a farm in Sioux County, Iowa in the late 1920's. The family struggled through many hardships during the depression and the World War II years.
In 1951 the author was drafted into the army and soon found himself in Korea on the front line. There he was assigned as a machine gunner in the E Company, 23rd Regiment, 2nd Division. The first night on line the author tells about having to continuously fire his machine gun because the enemy launched a massive attack on an outpost named, Old Baldy.
That night, and during the following fourteen months he was there. he witnessed the destruction and annihilation of personnel on both sides in unbelievable proportions. But most importantly. he witnessed the mighty hand of God guiding and protecting him. while overseas and through his entire lifetime.
This book deals with the author"s struggle with the after- effects of the war, and describes what happens when trauma isn't dealt with properly.
